Dave Dravecky to Present Keynote Address at The 2019 Industry Summit

Today at the National Sports Collector’s Convention in Chicago, The Industry Summit (A Beckett Media Conference), the premier B2B Conference for the collectibles industry, announced former National League All Star pitcher Dave Dravecky as a keynote speaker.
The 2019 Industry Summit will take place September 15-18 at the Westgate Resort & Casino in Las Vegas. The conference brings together licensors, licensees, distributors and retailers for four days of interaction, networking, a golf event, panel discussions, a bowling tournament, manufacturer presentations and industry awards. The cancer battle that ended Dravecky’s career on the mound in a dramatic fashion, set the stage for his new life calling. In his address to the summit, Pitch Perfect – Giant Courage, he will share very personal challenges of his personal battle with cancer. He will inspire as he shares how he has overcome adversity, depression, physical and mental challenges to live his best life as an encourager to others. He will share how to handle obstacles to success in the ever changing and challenging trading card industry.
Dave was named to the NL All Star Team in 1983. He pitched in the 1984 and 1987 NL Championship Series. He also pitched in the 1984 World Series. In 198 he was named the recipient of tow prestigious awards for courage. The Hutch Award is presented by Major League Baseball annually to the player who best exemplifies the fighting spirit and competitive desire by persevering through adversity. The Willie Mac Award is named for San Francisco Giants Hall of Famer Willie McCovey. It’s awarded annually to the Giants most inspirational player.
Dravecky continues to be a highly sought after motivational speaker and serves as a Community Ambassador for the Giants. He and his wife Jan established a non-profit ministry Endurance with Jan and Dave Dravecky, supporting patients battling cancer.
