The Industry Summit 2019 Partners In Progress Honoree List is Revealed

The Industry Summit (A Beckett Media Conference) www.theindustrysummit.com revealed its 2019 Partners In Progress Honoree list during the National Sports Collector’s Convention taking place at the Donald Stephens Convention Center.
The Partners In Progress awards honors key leaders and innovators who have made exceptional contributions to the growth of the trading card and memorabilia industry. The awards will be presented at the Industry Summit in Las Vegas, at the Westgate Resort, September 15-18. Summit attendees will receive custom, limited edition trading cards of each honoree and the honorees will also receive custom cards to share with friends and family. This year’s esteemed class includes the following.
Jason Howarth – Vice President of Marketing, Panini America. Since joining Panini in 2010, Jason has led the marketing team efforts, taking trading card marketing to a new level of excellence in both the hobby and retail channels. Panini activations with collectors at Super Bowls, Drafts, NCAA College Football Championships, All-Star Games and World Cup events have made excellence, excitement and innovation the industry gold standard.
Chris Ivy – Director of Sports Auctions, Heritage Auctions. Since 2000, Chris has built the sports auction division into the largest in the country, with annual sales over $50 million dollars. He is among the most respected and recognized experts in the field. Through his career he has overseen successful auctions of iconic athlete collections including Lou Gehrig, Jim Thorpe, Sam Snead, Stan Musial and many others.
Adam Martin – Owner, Dave & Adams Card World. When Adam attended his first trading card show in 1985, he was hooked. He began a 30+ year journey through which he has long been recognized as a visionary retailer and distributor. With his former partner and co-founder Dave Silver, the duo built a multi-faceted business that includes a highly successful retail store in the Buffalo NY area, a breaker platform and exclusive Hit Parade memorabilia box product. Adam is a true industry icon.
Dave McCarthy – Vice President of Consumer Products and E-Commerce, NHL Enterprises. As a highly respected marketing and brand strategist, for 18 years Dave has strategically led the NHL team to annual growth. His career began at a retail sporting goods chain. His keen insight and tireless passion for the collectibles category are hallmark characteristics of his tenure at the NHL.
Victor Schaffer – Executive Vice President, Fanatics, Inc. Victor’s long and storied three decade career has seen him play important roles in many aspects of the industry. He is known for his skills in marketing, product development, leadership and as a startup and business turnaround specialist. In his current role, he is a key leader at the world’s largest sports licensed merchandise seller.
James Spence – Owner & Founder James Spence Authentication, known in the hobby as JSA. Jim is considered among the premier autograph authenticators in the industry. He is a go-to authenticator for autograph authentication. He often partners with auction houses throughout the country. He has partnered with the FBI and other law enforcement as an expert witness many times. And is also an avid collector.
